Penrallt Coastal Campsite Facilities

General Facilities

The Family Field next to the house is the designated Camping & Caravanning Club field.It is mown regularly and it's fenced off for the greater safety of families with smaller children

The Sea View Field is primarily for tents.

Each field has it's own facilities (see below for details)

Baby changing / bath in the Family Field facilities

6 fridges are available for hire on a daily or weekly basis

A freezer is available free of charge for ice packs

Washing up sinks with hot water* are available

There are electrical hook-ups around the site but we are limited to 5 caravans so booking is advisable

There are additional hookups for tents

Laundry facilities - we have a washing machine** and tumble dryer** available

We have a children's play area in the Family Field

Parents are to supervise their own children at all times

The children's play area equipment is used at your own risk

Post office / village shop only 2 miles away in Tudweiliog

Friendly local pub nearby serving food and real ale, with children's play area

Sandy beaches only 5 minutes in the car or a 15 minute walk

Small harbour (Porth Ysgaden) for boat launching and fishing only 5 minutes away in the car

We can supply scuba diving air refills by arrangement

Availability for Welsh Language learners to practice their skills on Sue (also a learner!)

* the hot water and showers are operated by a 20p coin meter

** the washing machines and tumble dryers are operated by a £1 coin meter

9 pitches, including 6 electrical hook-ups

Ideal for families with younger children as it has it's own play area

2 child friendly wash rooms with hot showers*, cold water hand sink, and toilet

Wheelchair accessible, disabled shower seat, baby bath

3 fridges available for hire

Washing machine** and tumble drier**

2 washing up sinks with hot water*

2 outside toilets

 

Sea View Field Facilities

18 pitches, including 4 electrical hook-ups

1 acre, primarily for tents

2 wash rooms with hot showers*, cold water hand sink, and toilet

South Field Facilities

12 pitches, including 5 electrical hook-ups

Next to the Family Field, generally used for family groups

 

Annexe Field Facilities

10 pitches, with no electrical hook-ups

The smallest 'self contained' field, ideal for family group bookings

 

Tudweiliog Village Facilities

Traditional post office shop, fresh bread, newspapers, local farm produce, etc

The Lion pub, winner of the CAMRA Regional Pub of the year 2008

Towyn Beach - sandy and gently shelving, safe for children, no dogs between May - September

Porth Ysgaden harbour for boat launching and fishing

 

Edern Village Facilities

Traditional butcher selling home reared beef and lamb

Woodland Hall hotel with children's indoor soft ball play area

 

Morfa Nefyn Village Facilities

Traditonal greengrocer also selling home made pastries and cakes

Don't rely on your Sat Nav when you approach Tudweiliog village, follow these instructions instead:

From the village of Tudweiliog travel on the B4417 south towards Aberdaron.

After passing a lay-by on your left take your first right signposted to Penrallt Coastal Campsite.

Follow this road for 1 mile. Passing Tyddyn Mawr Farm on your right, then 2 sharp bends, arriving at a long low stone bungalow on your right Hen Tyddyn Sander.

Turn right immediately at the end of the bungalow sign posted to Penrallt Coastal Campsite.

Route advice for tourers

From the North/Caernarfon A499:

To avoid the steep climb on the B4417 over Yr Eifl mountain and narrow roads in Nefyn.

Past Trefor village on your right continue along the A499 to Y Ffor village.

Turn right onto the B4354 to Boduan.

At the T junction turn right onto A497 to Morfa Nefyn.

At the T junction turn left ontoB4417 to Tudweiliog.

From the South/Porthmadog A497:

To avoid the congestion in Pwllheli.

After passing the village of Llanystumdwy turn right onto B4354 to Chwilog.

Continue on to Y Ffor village and cross over the A499 dog-leg junction to Boduan.

At the T junction turn right onto A497 to Morfa Nefyn.

At the T junction turn left onto B4417 to Tudweiliog.

Striving For Environmental Sustainability

Penrallt Coastal Campsite has been awarded Green Dragon Environmental Accreditation from the Welsh Assembly Government for our commitment to Environmental Sustainability:

Comply with all relevant environmental legislation

Developing a reed bed to remove the last traces from the outflow of the waste water system

Effective composting of used paper hand towels mixed with grass cuttings to make plant mulch

Manage the headland to encourage the restoration of wild flowers and maritime heath

Plant trees and shrubs around the site to create more habitats for wildlife

Provide comprehensive recycling facilities on three fields to reduce the amount of rubbish going into landfill

Providing recycled paper products in the facilities

Reducing water and electricity consumption

Using biodegradable ecological cleaning products

Using recycled paper and envelopes in our administration, keeping paper and ink use to a minimum

 

Your support is appreciated when you:

Clean up after your dog at all times, regardless of where it is

Fully utilise the recycling facilities

Respect the natural environment within and around the campsite

Respect the needs of other campers on the site

Use non-formaldehyde, environmentally safe chemical toilet additive

Use environmentally friendly cleaning products

Dispose of damaged camping equipment in a recycling centre not on the site
